Lawrence Bender is a Force in the Film Industry

Lawrence Bender is a frequent contributor to the work of Quentin Tarantino, working as a producer on films such as Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction. Mr. Bender was born in New York City in 1957. He has over two decades of experience in the film industry, and often throws Hollywood fundraising events in order to raise money for things such as political change or social issues. Bender has nearly 30 Academy Award nominations, winning six.

Bender, like Tarantino, often makes cameo appearances in his own movies. Lawrence Bender was a police officer in Reservoir Dogs and he was a hotel clerk in Kill Bill.

Currently, Lawrence Bender owns his own production company called Lawrence Bender Productions.


Earthsea is originally a series of novels created by Ursula K. Le Guin. It was adapted to a Sci-Fi channel original mini-series in December of 2004, executive produced by Lawrence Bender.

Earthsea’s narrative centers around two points: Ged and King Tygath. Ged is simply a young wizard who is having visions about doors opening and a girl. King Tygath sees himself as a liberated, attempting to take over the land by using demons called the Nameless Ones.

King Tygath takes over the school of magic with the help of Jasper, who is then made the new Archmagus of the school.

Meanwhile, Ged and a few of the people he encounters during his travels are trying to stop the Nameless Ones from appearing. During the story, Ged is mistaken for a criminal, thrown in a maze-like prison, and escapes. Despite all of this, Ged still finds a way to banish the Nameless Ones.

Good Will Hunting

Good Will Hunting is another film produced by Lawrence Bender. This movie was written by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who also took on the leading roles of the film. The movie was nominated for nine Academy Awards and was filmed with a mere $10 million dollar budget.

Good Will Hunting is about a self-educated young man who works as a janitor at MIT. The movie is all about the life of this man, Will, as he reveals his genius to members of the University, struggles with love, and drinks with his friends.
