NSC CEO Greg Aziz The Man To Watch

The current Chairman and CEO of National Steel Car, Greg Aziz is a world-renowned and a highly respected business leader. He has guided his company to 13 consecutive wins of the coveted prestigious TTX SECO Awards, and he is also responsible for the awarding of an ISO certification that made NSC the only company of its kind to hold this kind of honor.

Having spent 16 years at his father’s company, Affiliated Foods, which he helped grow to a global leader in food imports with supply chains all across Europe and Northern America, Greg Aziz moved to New York. In the Big Apple, he dabbled in investment banking where he not only successfully expanded his clients’ interests; he also grew his portfolio for the better part of a decade.

Not satisfied with working for others, he took a gamble, and in 1994 he returned to Ontario and bought National Steel Car from Dofasco. At the time, the railcar manufacturer was in a crisis, with legal action and hefty fines contributed by the company’s tendency to focus on low-cost and obsolete technologies. From a measly 3,500 units, Greg Aziz increased the annual production capacity to an incredible 12,500 units, to sustain this growth; the company hired additional 2,000 employees up from a pitiable workforce of 500.

By concentrating on engineering, National Steel Car was able to produce cost-effective railcars that are considered some of the safest freight cars in the world. With innovation and introduction of modular cars that were easily customizable according to client needs catapulted NSC to the top. Currently, the company is considered the largest rolling stock manufacturer not only in Canada but across Northern America. Get Related Information Here.

With the recent orders from CN Rail, the future of National Steel Car is only getting better and with the wise leadership of its current CEO, the company is set to rise to even greater heights. Outside of the executive office, Gregory Aziz is a father and husband. His wife Irene and their daughters Natalie and Karina reside live in Toronto Canada.
